The
first permanent residence was opened for boys in 1994. It was the first of
its kind to offer a comprehensive solution to the problem of the abandoned/orphaned
street children - a permanent, loving home. This approach has been recognized
as a long-term solution to the problem of children dying on the streets. In
1996 the House of Hope Girls Home and the Hope Rescue Center
were opened.
We are beginning to build the Village of Hope on a 14-acre plot, outside of Bucharest. This facility will provide family-like housing for up to 200 children.
